![]() The Texas Pioneer Arts Foundation was established in 1968 by Faith and Charles Bybee. Our mission is to collect, preserve and exhibit the arts and artifacts, antiques, tools and buildings characteristic of the German-Texan culture that flourished in the Round Top, Texas-area in the 19th Century. Today the foundation has stewardship of an extraordinary collection of Texas decorative arts, plus many homes and buildings, all of which form a remarkable legacy provided by Mr. and Mrs. Bybee. Living Museums of Texas-German Life in the 1800s More than a dozen structures are already open to visitors in Henkel Square Museum Village. |
Donations, Sponsorships and VolunteerismThe Henkel Square Museum Village has several corporate and individual sponsorship opportunities available. Any interested supporter can elect to sponsor one of the yearly events. During its year, the museum hosts events including The Republic of Texas Frolic, The Round Top Christmas Celebration, The Quilt Show and others. The Foundation is also prepared to accept donations to continue its restoration and conservation work. The circa 1850s homes and cabins need continuous attention to keep them authentically refurbished and the Foundation would gratefully acknowledge any support. There are future plans to enhance the experience of walking back in time by providing upgrades to the homes. This includes signage, lighting, period gardens and walkways. The Bybee collection accurately depicts life in the mid to late 1800s in Round Top, Texas, and preserving this heritage provides an important educational experience for school children and other visitors alike. Additionally, Henkel Square is always accepting volunteers to assist in the work of the Foundation. We welcome interested individuals wishing to assist with tours, adopt a pioneer home, become informed with the local history to share with groups, help maintain the gardens and decorate for Christmas. We will find a place that fits both your desires and your interests. For more information on sponsorships, donations, or volunteerism please contact the museum office at 979.249.3308 or by email. We look forward to hearing from you! |
