The Apothecary (1875)
The town drugstore
was built by Edward Henkel for his friend, Mr. Recknagel, who ran the
business. Mrs. Recknagel operated a photography studio in the corner
of the store.
Some of her photographs are on display. The apothecary, which operated
at this site, today serves as the main entrance to Henkel Square,
a gift shop where you may shop while eating delicious hand-dipped Blue
Bell Ice Cream.
